Is there a free trial, and what’s free?

Yes — the Free plan is the trial. You get three briefs at $0, no card required, full access to the generator and the plain-text export of those three briefs. No countdown timer; the limit is simply “three briefs total.”

What’s the difference between Brief and Pro?

Brief is the solo plan: 30 briefs/month, plain-text export, watermark removed, video rendering. Pro is the team plan: 200 briefs/month, everything in Brief, plus saved libraries, a shareable export link, and a VA seat for one invited collaborator.

How does cancel-anytime work?

From your dashboard, hit “Manage subscription.” It opens the Stripe portal in a new tab. Click “Cancel plan.” One click, confirmed by email. The current month stays active until the end of the billing cycle — you keep what you paid for; nothing is taken away mid-cycle.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. If you cancel within 14 days of your first paid charge and haven’t generated more than ten briefs, email us and we refund the full amount. After 14 days, the current month ends on its natural cycle; we don’t pro-rate the remainder.

Do you charge tax or VAT?

Accepted Answer

Stripe Tax handles it for us: US sales tax is added where the law requires it, EU and UK VAT is calculated from your billing address, and GST is applied for Australian customers. The number you see at checkout is the total — no surprise line items later.

What payment methods are accepted?

All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), plus Apple Pay and Google Pay through Stripe Checkout. Bank debit and ACH are available on Pro. We don’t accept crypto, wire transfer, or PayPal.

Can I upgrade or downgrade — and will I be charged the difference?

Yes, both directions from your dashboard. Upgrades are pro-rated: you pay only the difference for the rest of the current cycle, and the new tier unlocks immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle so you don’t lose what you already paid for.

Not yet — every plan is billed monthly. We’ve kept monthly because marketing cadence varies, and an annual commitment would box you in. When annual lands, existing customers get a launch discount first.

Briefs reset each cycle — there’s no carry-over, and no penalty for under-using. It’s a low-risk signal that you can step down a tier next month; we won’t claw them back or charge you extra for rollover you didn’t use.

Fourteen days from your first paid charge, as long as you haven’t generated more than ten briefs in that window. Email us and we refund the full amount — one-line reply inside one business day. After 14 days, the current month ends naturally on its cycle.
